My name is Susanne Heralall. I am 25 years old. I was born in Guyana and lived in the Caribbean island of Anguilla for over seven years.
At the age of 12, I was inspired by the local artists and teachers in Anguilla to become an artist and an art teacher. At 14, I came to live in America, graduated Piscataway High School and received a full Fine Arts Scholarship. I graduated Kean University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and the New Jersey teacher certification. Currently, I work with an art company called Creative Notions Art of the Masters. I teach over 500 adults a month around the central New Jersey Area. I consider myself to be active artist as well as a teacher. Art is my passion and I feel truly blessed to be doing what I love and it provides me with great pleasure to share what I know with others.
Come out and enjoy the delicious wine at Old York Cellars, meet wonderful people and leave with your very own, finished Acrylic paint artwork! You will leave with knowledge essential to creating and developing your artistic ability and awareness.
For this event, I picked Acrylic paints as the medium because they are versatile, bear little to no harsh smell or chemicals, a wide variety of colors/brilliance, have no change of colors from wet to dry, and are water soluble. In addition, these paints are easy to set up, quick-drying and highly resistant to water once dried. Acrylics can be applied thick or diluted with water to look like a watercolor or oil painting. Successfully applying multiple layers to the canvas can create a luxuriously thick and sateen finish, as well.
My class is designed for a wide variety of learners. Whether it’s your first time using Acrylic paints or you have been using them for years, the class is sure to facilitate exploration and mastery of the usage of Acrylics. I will also discuss the history and benefits of Acrylic paint usage.
The focus will be on demonstration and techniques, with everyone will working from various still-life choices set up around the room. Students will be able to work in a guided, independent manner and have the opportunity to finish a complete painting. All materials will be provided for your usage! Utilize the supplies we will be offering or feel free to bring in your own materials if so desired.Following my seminar, one will walk away with new knowledge and furthered development of Acrylic paint usage and become familiar with the little gem that is Old York Cellars.
