Old school runescape thieving money making - with

Old School RuneScape is an online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and released by Jagex that is massively multiplayer. On 22 February , the game was released. You may feel confused logging into the game, whether you are new to OSRS or you are a long-time Runescape player returning from a hiatus. OSRS operates a lot better than Runescape3 and there are entirely different ways of making money through OSRS. This article would discuss the best ways for Old School Runescape players, to make money.

If you are a dedicated gamer, this list will be handy for you. It is one of the most sought after multi-player games, so you can share this article with your co-players and can become rich RuneScape players. Below, you’ll find some of the best ways to make money and level up in the game. Hope you make some good money with the help of this article. All the best!

Skilling

Levelling up your ability is one of Runescape’s most time-consuming activities. That being said, because of the doors it unlocks for you, skills are one of the most profitable ways of OSRS money-making. The most lucrative abilities appear to be the abilities with which it is most difficult to reach high standards, so it is necessary to use the talent time wisely. With skills such as Farming, Slayer, Hunter, Thieving, and Runecrafting, you would be able at high levels to win simple millions. Woodcutting, fishing, and mining are also strong options that will give you a steady income, but they are extremely competitive and popular. One of the most popular ways of making money in Old School Runescape is to level up your abilities and sell fish, ore, logs, runes, herbs, and everything else that you collect on the Grand Exchange. You’ll be able to hunt, mine, craft, and chop better things and sell them for more cash as you level up.

Killing Chickens

If you are low-level and want to practice battle while making some cash, chickens are great. Killing a chicken in the OSRS is unlikely, so don’t think about taking food or equipping yourself with something specific. Feathers, bones and raw chicken fall from the chickens. If you need fuel, both of these things are worth enough to justify rushing to the bank. For fly-fishing, feathers are used and players are still able to pay for bones to step up their prayers. Feathers are packed in one inventory slot, but one slot per object will be taken up by bones and raw chickens, so you will sometimes end up rushing to the bank. The best spot to kill chickens is across the bridge from Castle Lumbridge and up the northern road. The chicken coop is on the left, away from a potato field.

Running Through the Stronghold of Security

To help players think about how to keep their account details secure, the Stronghold of Security was introduced. Four tiers in this dungeon you will encounter and each one will have a small incentive to finish it at the end: 10k, a few emotes, and some boots. In fighting, the monsters you will encounter at each level will grow sequentially higher and most of them are hostile. At level three, you can sprint through the Stronghold of Security, but one or two hits can destroy the high-level Ankou’s at the end of the stronghold. Before attempting to complete the Fortress of Defense, it is advised to bring your hitpoint level to about 15, but you don’t have to. If your fighting level is below 50, before attempting this, capture any of the food inventory.

Crafting Gold Amulets

You can buy Grand Exchange gold bars, craft gold amulets out of them, and market them for profit again. As for all flipping strategies on OSRS, before buying the bars, make sure you search the latest prices of gold bars and gold amulets. You’re going to net a profit and concurrently train your level of crafting. In order to start making money with this form, you’ll probably want to be able to buy a few hundred Gold Bars, so you’ll need about k to start.

Tanning Dragonhides (Members Only)

By tanning green and blue dragon hides and selling them on the Grand Exchange, you will produce over k an hour. Purchase a good amount of Grand Exchange Green Dragonhides or Blue Dragonhide. Go to Al Kharid, then, and have them tanned. You’re going to race from a bank to a tanner until your hides are all tanned. Offer the Dragon Leather for a fee on the Grand Exchange. Before using this method, you should have several million OSRS gold, since it would cost a lot to obtain enough Dragonhides to spend a few hours tanning.

Enchanting Sapphire Rings

Check the Grand Exchange before ordering your materials to ensure that this method would be profitable for you. Usually, from enchanting sapphire rings, you can predict around k an hour. Buy in bulk sapphire rings and celestial runes and buy a Water Staff. On each ring and bank, cast the spell “Lvl-1 Enchant” on the Rings of Recoil you get. Sell them all until you’re done for an enchanting benefit. If you have to train it, this is also a perfect way to boost your Magic level.

Mining Iron Ore

By mining copper and tin, you get your mining amount to 15, then mine iron ore and sell it on the Grand Exchange. If you’re effective, you can extract over k of Iron Ore. The Monastery Mine should be used by members to get the most gold every hour, and non-members should pursue the East and West Varrock mines. When you upgrade your pickaxe, you can mine ore easier, using the best pickaxe that your level will allow. Get the Ardougne Cloak from the Ardougne Achievement Diaries to get constant teleports to the monastery if you’re a member using the Monastery Mine. The southern Ardougne bank is a fleeting run away when your inventory is complete. For participants who want to use the Varrock mines, you can win Varrock Armor 1 to complete the simple tasks of Varrock, which will give you a 10 per cent chance of mining 2 Iron Ore at once.

Killing Green Dragons

Fighting Green Dragons will take you up to around k an hour and is a perfect way to train their battle skills both members and non-members. Green Dragons have a chance of falling both Dragon Bones and Green Dragonhide by per cent. Dragon Bones are going to net a few thousand per bone for you. Crafting Green Dragonhides is still in high demand. In level Wilderness, Northwest of Edgeville is the most convenient spot to battle Green Dragons.  When you go, do not forget to take teleport runes or a teleport tab with you. PKers routinely stalk this place, so if needed, you may want to have access to a quick escape. You’re going to need an Anti-Dragon Shield, which is normally cheap to purchase from the Grand Exchange.

Pickpocketing Master Farmers

The higher the Thieving level, the more effective you will be at this strategy. 38 Thieving plus some food is what you’ll need. For the best way to reach a bank, head to Draynor Village. The Draynor Master Farmer is an NPC quest that you should speak to, but you’ll need to right-click to pick him up. This can get irritating, so you might choose to use the North of Ardougne Master Farmer instead. Depending on how high your thief level is and what seeds you pickpocket, you will usually make k per hour pickpocketing master farmers. A lot of the seeds are going to be relatively useless and you can dump them in order to save the bank trips, but a lot of them sell on the Grand Exchange for a lot. In specific, keep an eye out for these seeds.

Killing Chaos Druids

Destroy Chaos Druids and sell the herbs, runes, and bolts they lose in the Taverly Dungeon or Edgeville Dungeon. Chaos Druids practising is a fun and simple way to boost our level of fighting and at the same time earn an OSRS GP. Based on your stage, loading up your inventory would take minutes. Based on your stage, loading up your inventory would take minutes. Hold all the herbs above Ranarr to sell on the Grand Exchange – you’ll get more herbs than any other form of decline. Remember that the Chaos Druids in the Edgeville Dungeon are in the Wilderness, so if you wish to use that spot, bring teleport runes. You can quickly make the Anarchy Druids slaughter up to k every hour.

1 to 99 OSRS Thieving Guide - Training & Money making

Released in May of , Thieving has become a very common skill for Old School RuneScape players, and a fairly quick 99 to achieve. Get ready for thieving, as in this guide, we’ll go through not just the shortest path to 99 thieving, but also go over a few money makers. Feel free to rotate, in particular towards the later levels, through the methods in this OSRS Thieving Guide by Ezrsgold.

Thieving Quests

Prior to the actual thieving guide, we want to discuss the importance of questing. The early thieving grind can be very repetitive and involves intense clicking, so we recommend completing a couple of quests that give a reasonable amount of thieving experience to zoom through early levels. Here's a rundown of all the OSRS quests offering thieving experience. If you'd like to skip the questing process, consider using our OSRS Questing Service.

Thieving quests

Equipment for Thieving

For you to use in your Thieving journey to 99, we recommend you use these following items, as they can make your journey a lot more profitable, faster, or both! If you need some gold to afford these items, consider checking out our OSRS Buy Gold Page.

Ardougne Cloak 3

Upon completing every Ardougne diary you can get these exclusive Cloaks. Upon completing the Ardougne easy diaries, the first stage, the Ardougne Cloak 1, gives you a 10 percent greater chance of thieving successfully from Ardougne stalls. The second-tier stacks with the easy diary after completing the medium diaries and offers an additional 10 percent higher chance of pickpocketing in Ardougne. The third-tier stacks with the previous diaries after completing the hard diaries and provides you with a 10 percent higher chance of succeeding when pickpocketing around Gielinor. Keep in mind, you don’t have to equip the cloaks for the bonuses to come into effect. You can get the cloaks from Two Pints, in East Ardougne's Flying Horse Inn.

Ardougne cape 3

Dodgy Necklace

While equipped, this enchanting opal necklace gives you a 25 percent chance not to get stunned and hit when pickpocketing any NPC. This helps you immensely during pickpocketing and speeds up the rate of experience gain. The necklace has 10 charges, every time you're saved from a stun a charge is consumed. In basic terms, the necklace can give you immunity from being stunned for up to a minute.

Dodgy necklace

Rogue outfit

To find rogue equipment, you'll have to open the rogue equipment, which can be done by completing the Rouge's Den minigame. Besides being a sleek and cool outfit, the full rouge outfit offers the chance to double the loot from an NPC by pickpocketing. We highly recommend this if you go down the route of this guide’s profitable portion.

Thieving Training Guide

Levels – Pickpocketing Men & Women

To start off your thieving journey, and this thieving OSRS guide, you're going to be pickpocketing Men & Women to level 5. Practically everywhere you can find men & women, but they are in great abundance in places like Lumbridge and Edgeville. You 're just going to be there for a couple of minutes so don't get cozy. Here’s a tip for pickpocketing – go to your settings, go to the 'play controller' icon at the top right, and select 'Hide' under 'NPC Attack Options.' This makes pickpocketing so much easier, because your default left-click choice is pickpocketing, not fighting. If you want to skip these early levels and jump straight into the fun parts of Thieving, consider using our OSRS Power Levelling Service.

Man

Levels – Stealing from Cake Stalls

You will be stealing from the Cake Stall in East Ardougne market from levels 5 to More precisely, in the east side of the market you can find the cake stall (otherwise known as the Baker's Stall). To thieve them optimally, stand opposite the side facing the market, and thieve! Drop it (or bank) until you have a full inventory and carry on the thieving. If a guard threatens you in the rare case, you can either run away, or be brave and fight back against him. That way, in a very short time you will be right back to thieving. Anyways, you'll only be about 20 minutes here.

Cake stall

Levels – Stealing from Silk Stalls

The Silk Stall, where you will be from level 20 to level 25, is right next to the cake stalls, which you should have thieved from level 5 to The East Ardougne market has two silks stalls, and we've provided you with a map of them. Just as with the cake stalls, to thieve these stalls effectively, just stand opposite the side of the stall facing the market and keep thieving. Also, if you're looking for some extra cash when doing so, you 'd be able to sell the silk to the merchants.

Silk stall location

Levels – Stealing from the Hosidius Fruit Stand

Between levels 25 to 45, at the Great Kourend, you must steal fruit from the Hosidius Fruit Stall. The stall, more precisely, is on the east side of the Hosidius house, near the beach. Nonetheless, to do that, you'll need the Hosidius House 15 percent favor, which is incredibly easy to get. There is a bank to the west, if you want to bank your thieved goods. Do that all until level

Fruit stand location

Levels – Blackjacking Bearded Bandits

We finally get into the core of this thieving OSRS guide. Get used to blackjacking, since you’ll be doing it a lot. You'll be going to Pollnivneach from levels 45 to 55, to blackjack the Bearded Pollnivnian Bandits. To blackjack you have to have a blackjack, preferably a maple blackjack. Just knock him down with the blackjack once you've found a Bearded Bandit, pick him up while he's unconscious on the floor, and wait before he gets up again. If you have fast hands, click twice when he's on the floor for even more experience and gold.

Bearded bandit

When you're caught trying to blackjack the bandit, though, he'll attack you for 4hp. When you've been hit, just try to knock them back repeatedly and hopefully they'll be unconscious again. If you've been too slow to take them down once they reach you, they 're going to start hitting you. If that happens, just run away, restore your health and come back. And if you're in a building, you can just walk up the steps and wait a couple of seconds.

Ali the Dyer's building, on the north side of Pollnivneach, is our absolute favorite spot to blackjack all forms of bandits. The reason you 're going to want to use this house is because it's incredibly small and has easy access to ladders to escape.

Store location

If you're ever running out of food and are hoping to live longer, there's a slightly west banknote exchange dealer, and we've provided you with his location on the map. Simply give him some noted food along with a couple of coins and he will un-note them for you, so you can carry on blackjack. Ali the Barman, slightly south, sells wines for 1gp each if you don't want to bring in food. Just do this method until 55, and you'll also get a few hundred thousand gold!

Levels – Blackjacking Non-Bearded Bandits

Just when you're blackjacking bearded bandits from levels , we'll do the same from levels 55 to 65, except now you'll be blackjacking non-bearded bandits. They are still in the same place, so you are going to be blackjacking them with the same technique as seen before. To differentiate between bearded and unbearded bandits, look at their hand to see if they are holding a weapon, other than the obvious facial hair difference. All bearded bandits will not carry a scimitar, while unbearded bandits will carry a scimitar with them. Best of all, you'll get even more hourly experience, and even more gold per hour!

Non bearded bandit

Levels – Blackjacking Menaphite Thugs

And we will be blackjacking again from level 65 to level This time, it is going to be Menaphite Thugs. On the south side of Pollnivneach, you will find these level 55s and they are hard to miss. The blackjack strategy for them is the exact same as before. Except this time, you'll get a lot more experience and a lot more gold! And they get much easier to blackjack at about 77 thieving, which isn't too far down the lane, according to your current level.Menaphite thug

Levels – Completing Pyramid Plunder

To complete your OSRS Thieving journey, you’ll complete the minigame of the Pyramid Plunder from levels 91 to You will be in the Jalsavrah Pyramid in Sophanem for this process, which is unlocked after starting the ‘Icthlarin’s Little Helper’ quest. Otherwise you can just use the Pharoh's Sceptre teleport function to get straight there. We also suggest completing the quest ‘Contact!’ for easy access to the Bank next to the pyramid. If you've not done the quest, your next bank is in Nardah, which is quite a tedious walk to do whenever you need food or anti-posion.

We suggest bringing weight reduction equipment, as well as prayer potions, antidotes, food, coins, and stamina/energy potions for the most efficiency. And there's a 1 in chance to earn a Pharoh's Sceptre for an extra reward, which is an incredibly sought-after drop. Unfortunately, we are not going to break down the specifics of Pyramid Plunder and the steps to complete it in this article, because there is too much to cover for an OSRS Thieving Article. Nonetheless, should you find yourself lost while completing Pyramid Plunder, do not hesitate to search the Runescape Wiki Page's comprehensive guide or browse around Youtube.

OSRS Thieving Money Making

Pickpocketing H.A.M members (k GP/Hr)

To start the money-making section of the guide, we’ve got one of RuneScape’s best methods to make quick gold – pickpocketing H.A.M members! Players with level 15 Thieving can pickpocket female H.A.M members and at 20 Thieving can pickpocket male H.A.M members. When pickpocketing H.A.M. members you get a 1/50 chance to get an easy clue scroll. Much of the value you get from an easy clue scroll is from trimmed armour, God pages, cosmetic items, and some very rare items like gold trimmed monk robes. You can no longer fail pickpocketing H.A.M. Members at 93 Thieving if you have completed the Ardougne Hard Diary. Alternatively, you can't fail either if you have 99 Thieving and wear the Thieving cape. Since a pickpocket takes seconds, it will take on average a little over a minute to get an easy clue scroll. A clue scroll can usually be completed in under 90 seconds with teleports all unlocked and accessible. The general strategy is to teleport to Draynor Village using an Amulet of Glory, running to the hideout, obtaining a clue scroll through pickpocketing and completing the clue scroll, repeating the process by banking in Draynor Village. If you’re a lower thieving level, consider wearing a dodgy necklace and H.A.M. robes to minimise the risk of being kicked out the hideout.

Ham location

Pickpocketing Master Farmers (k GP/Hr)

As you pickpocket Master Farmers in Draynor Village, the money will really start rolling in. These farmers will give you a tremendous amount of seeds, including ranarrs and snapdragons! You’ll leap to the range of more than a million gp an hour, and we strongly recommend getting the rouge outfit for this. If you have a seed box, that's going to be very beneficial, too. If you have a low hit point level, make sure you bring some food (if you have the rouge 's outfit at level 94, don't worry about bringing food). Head over to Draynor with your things, and find Martin, the master gardener, as seen on the map. Wait until Martin is stuck inside the pig pin for the best efficiency. Then pick-pocket away from here, dropping the worthless seeds. And once again scroll for a helpful tip on pickpocketing up to the very first step in this guide. After making a bunch of gold, consider selling it for real life cash through our OSRS Sell Gold Page.

Master farmer location

And with that, we conclude our OSRS Thieving Guide. Good luck with your thieving journey, don't get caught!

Runescape: Best Money Making Skills in OSRS

Complete list of the best money making skills in Old School Runescape - with in-depth guides included

An overview of the Best Skills for Gold Making

Introduction

Almost every activity performed in the Old School Runescape is associated with a Skill. There are a total of 23 Skills in the OSRS. Every one of them starts at 1 and can be leveled all the way up to 99 (with a notable exception of Hitpoints, which starts at 10). The general power level of our character closely corresponds with the level of his skills, the same goes for our character's gold-making, grinding, and hunting possibilities (overall, high skills open up a lot of the game's Content). In other words, Skills are the name of the game in the OSRS and cannot be overlooked, especially if you want to make a decent Gold profit.

Leveling some of these Skills up fast can be Gold consuming (and leveling them up without money input takes a lot of time and effort), but many of them can be profitable from the start. Some of the Skills open great RS Gold Farming possibilities when leveled up enough, and can be used to make a lot of money very efficiently. This Guide will go over the best skilling moneymakers in the OSRS. It will be structured as an overview, and much more detailed Guides on every one of the featured Skills will follow closely after (they will be linked in the corresponding sections as soon as they are ready).

The Best OSRS Skilling Money Makers

Odealo is a secure trading platform for MMO gamers. It is a gamer-driven marketplace for Runescape Gold, Items, and Power Leveling services.

RUNESCAPE GOLD

Mining
Mining

Mining Skill allows you to obtain metal Ores and Gems from rocks. Ores can be turned into bars using the Smithing Skill or sold for profit. Mining is one of the most popular Skills in the Game, and for a good reason. When leveled high enough it can be used for making a lot of Gold.

The most profitable, but also very Skill-demanding Ore to mine is the Runite Ore. Mining Runite requires at least 85 Skill in Mining and a Dragon Pickaxe, for maximizing the yield. This Ore is in very high demand and sells for a very good price on the Grand Exchange (prices are over Gold a lot of the time). The high price attracts a lot of Players, so the competition for Runite Farming is fierce. This results in quick depletion of the Runite Rocks, so World Switching is necessary for efficient farming. Runite Rocks can be mined in one of the following locations:

  • Lava Maze Rune Mine (Free-to-Play, 2 Runite Rocks available)
  • Frozen Waste Plateau (Members only, 3 Runite Rocks available)
  • Heroes' Guild Mine (Members only, 2 Runite Rocks available)
  • South Mor Ul Rek Mine (Members only, 3 Runite Rocks available)
  • Myths' Guild, Mining Guild, Fossil Island (Members only, 2 Runite Rocks available)

Profitability

Mining Runite Ore can net you about k-1kk/hour. Your profits will depend on the Grand Exchange prices, your ability to find the fresh Runite Ores quickly (teleports/stamina potions, etc. are recommended), and the current competition (farming outside of Server's prime time is generally the most profitable, simply because there are much fewer players Farming in the middle of the night or very early in the morning).

Runecrafting
Runecrafting

Runecrafting Skill allows you to create your own Runes that are needed for Magic Spells. Leveling up this skill takes a lot of time and effort because experience rewards from crafting are rather low and a lot of clicking/banking/running is involved. Despite this difficulty, Runecrafting is certainly worth leveling up. This is because of the very high profits that come from crafting high-level Runes.

Leveling the Runecrafting Skill high enough will enable you to Craft two High-Level runes with one Essence, which will double your profits. Crafting High-Level runes is not that simple, however, and will require some preparation (mainly, you will need Access to the Abyss, quite High Mining Skill, Pickaxe, high Hitpoints pool, and some Food).  The most profitable Runes to craft are:

  • Nature Runes (Requirements: 44 Runecrafting, 91 Runecrafting for doubles).
  • Law Runes (Requirements: 54 Runecrafting, 95 Runecrafting for doubles).
  • Death Runes (Requirements: 65 Runecrafting, 99 Runecrafting for doubles). These are the most profitable, but also the hardest to craft, as they basically require you to max out the Runecrafting skill.

Profitability

Your profits will largely depend on your Runecrafting skill,  your ability to relocate quickly, and the current Grand Exchange prices. Making Deathrunes at the 99 Runecrafting Skill can net you about 1,25kk/hour, making Nature Runes at the 91 Runecrafting Skill can net you up to 1,1kk/Hour, and creating the Law Runes at the 95 Runecrafting Skill should give you about 1kk/Hour. Crafting these runes at Skill levels lower than those mentioned will yield you about half of the above-mentioned Gold per Hour (which is still quite a good profit if you meet all other requirements).

Detailed Skilling Guide:OSRS Runecrafting Guide

Thieving
Thieving

Thieving is a Members-only Skill that will enable you to steal Items and Coins from Chests, Market Stalls, and from NPC's by pickpocketing them. It will also allow you to disarm traps and pick locks on locked doors. This Skill gets especially profitable at high levels because your thieving success rate steadily rises with your Thieving Skill.

Pickpocketing Master Farmers is the main source of Gold from Thieving Skill. It will require you to have at least 38 Thieving (this will not be worth the effort at such a low level, however), but Thieving skill of at least 50 + full Rogue Equipment is recommended for decent profits. The moneymaking potential of pickpocketing Master Farmers caps out at 94 Thieving because at this level you will no longer fail your pickpocket attempts. Master Farmers can be found in the following locations:

  • Varrock: South of the Stone Circle
  • Farming Guild
  • Hosidius: House south-east of the Town Square (Zeah)

Profitability

The amount of Gold that can be made out of pickpocketing Master Farmers greatly depends on player's Thieving Skill and his Equipment (full Rogue Equipment is recommended). You should consider this Skilling Moneymaking Method only if you have at least 50 Thieving, at that level, it will net you about k Gold/Hour. With a fully optimized character, and at 94+ Thieving level it is possible to make over 1kk Gold/Hour with this method.

Detailed Skilling Guide:OSRS Thieving Guide

Smithing
Smithing

Smithing is a Skill that will allow you to process raw Ore into Bars and the Bars into a wide variety of metal Items. Bars can be smelted at special Furnaces, and the Items can be Crafted at special Anvils.

The best profit that can be achieved with Smithing comes from Smelting high-level Ores, like the Runite Ore, at the Blast Furnace. The Blast Furnace itself is a type of the minigame located in Kaldagrim, available only to Members. The Blast Furnace requires just half the amount of Coal that is usually required when Smelting, which means that it offers a great Smelting efficiency. Blast Furnaces can be found on Worlds , , , and (official Blast Furnace Worlds). It is located in Kaldagrim (Quest: The Giant Dwarf must be started to gain access).

Smelting Runite Ore into Bars requires 85 Smithing. High Agility Skill is also recommended. Items like Weight-Reducing Clothes, Energy and Stamina Potions, Ice Gloves, and a Coal Bag are essential for this Skilling Moneymaking Method. Some initial Gold investment will be needed if you don't plan or are not able to farm Runite Ore by yourself, and want to purchase it on the Grand Exchange instead.

Other profitable Bars that can be Smelted are Steel Bars (Requirements: 30 Smithing), Mithril Bars (Requirements: 50 Smithing), and Adamantite Bars (Requirements: 70 Smithing).

Profitability

The amount of Gold that can be made at the Blast Furnace largely depends on the current Grand Exchange Margins (the higher the price difference between Ore and Bars, the better, of course). SmeltingMithril should net you about k Gold/Hour, and Smelting Runite can potentially provide profits reaching up to 1kk Gold/Hour. Smithing Adamantite Bars at the Blast Furnace yields around k Gold/Hour and Smithing Steel Bars surprisingly yields profits very similar to Smithing the Adamantite (about k Gold/Hour).

Hunter
Hunter

Hunter is a Skill that allows you to catch various Creatures and Animals that inhabit the world of the Old School Runescape. It has a Member-only restriction and being added in , it is the newest Skill in the Game. The higher your Hunter Skill, the more Traps you can lay, and the more experience you get from catching your prey.

Thanks to special Hunting Equipment that can be bought from Hunter Stores, you can hunt specific creatures and obtain various expensive, rare, and in-demand Items. One of the most profitable Creatures for Hinting is the Black Chinchompa (Black Chin for short). Hunting them requires 80+ Hunter (for ~% chance of catching; with a 73% Hunter the chance equals to only 78%), Box Traps, Ranged Weapon and gear, some protective equipment, and the Eagles' Peak Quest. These creatures can be found in the Wilderness (which means that you can lay 1 extra Trap), south-east of the Lava Maze. Laying down traps around Chin's respawn spots can help you increase Hunting efficiency (to do this, you should kill one, wait for the respawn, and set your trap s around the discovered Spawn Point).

The other profitable Creature to Hunt is the Impling. Hunting these requires a good Hunter Skill (~83 is strongly recommended), and a decent Thieving (60+ will suffice). Moreover, you will need Butterfly Net (unless you outskill these by at least 10), Dramen or Lunar Staff, and some Impling Jars. Things like Weight-reducing Clothes, Stamina Potions, and some Runes are recommended for increasing Hunting efficiency. Implings can be found in Puro-Puro.

Profitability

Your Gold gain from Hunting Implings will depend on your luck, at least to some extent. On a good day, you can earn about h Gold/Hour, if you are not too lucky, this number will be closer to k Gold/Hour. Hunting Black Chins should net you more or less k Gold/Hour after you set everything up properly (laying Traps in correct spots will take some time, so profit from the first Hunting hour will most likely be a little lower).

Note: These numbers can also be influenced by PKers roaming these Hunting Spots. Be prepared for such encounters, or try to Hunt outside of Server's prime hours to increase your Gold/Hour gains.

Honorable Mentions

This skills didn't make our Top list, but they are still worth checking out, especially if you are looking for some alternative and fun ways of making Gold in the OSRS.

Fishing
Fishing

This Skill allows you to catch Fish from various spots all around the World. Higher Fishing Skill opens up the ability to catch more varied types of Fish and increases the Fishing success rate. Many Fish are used as ingredients in Cooking recipes which makes them quite expensive and looked for by players who want to level up their Cooking Skill.

Catching certain Fish requires you to have special Equipment that can be purchased in the specialized Fishing Shops. Specialized Fishing Equipment includes Fishing Rods (used at mid Fishing Levels), Baits (Needed to attract Fish), Nets (Usable in Seas only), Harpoons (Usable in Seas only), and Lobster Cages (Usable in Seas to catch Lobsters).

Fishing provides mid-tier Gold income but is still a good alternative if you want something relaxing to do when you just can't be asked to do anything more engaging and/or difficult. Two of the most profitable Fish to catch are:

  • Minnows (Members-only) - They require 82 Fishing, the Fishing Contest Quest, an Angler's Outfit, and the Small Fishing Net. Minnows can be caught at the Kylie Minnow's fishing platform located in the Fishing Guild (you have to have a full Angler's Outfit to access the platform). Be aware that there are some AFK prevention mechanisms implemented to stop Players from catching them while AFKing (Minnows move around at a fixed rate, forcing you to follow them, and a Flying Fish, which eats Minnows from your inventory if you don't move away, will appear from time to time).
  • Anglerfish - These require 82+ Fishing, a Fishing Rod, some Sandworms (can be purchased from Tynan's Fishing Supplies store), and a % Piscarilius Favour (grinding this takes several hours, which discourages many Players). Anglerfish can be found in the Port Piscarilius (main docks and beaches). It is a good idea to Equip the Rada's Blessing, as it will give you an 8% chance to catch 2 Fish at once, effectively increasing your profits by 8%.

Profitability

Your profits from Fishing will depend on the Current Grand Exchange prices, but you can generally expect ~k Gold/Hour from Catching Anglerfish, and around k Gold/Hour from Catching Minnows. As you can see, these methods do not provide great profits, but they have the advantage of not being attention-intensive which enables AFK and semi-AFK methods.

Cooking
Cooking

Cooking Skill allows you to process raw ingredients into edible Food which restores Hitpoints when eaten. Depending on your Cooking Skill, you will sometimes Burn your Food, which is unambiguous with wasting some of the raw ingredients. Food can be Cooked on Fires and Ranges. Ranges are generally better, as they have a lower chance of Burning your Food, furthermore, Ranges located in the Hosidius Kitchen and in the Lumbridge Castle Burn Food less often than regular Ranges.

Note: Cooking can be combined with Fishing to increase Gold yield from both Skills.

One of the most profitable Foods for Cooking is Raw Karambwan. Cooking it requires 30 Cooking (90+ is Recommended for ~% Success Chance), a Cooking Cape or Gauntlets, Access to the Cook's Guild (recommended, you will need Varrock Armour 3 or 99 Cooking to gain entry - this will give you access to a Range which is located in close proximity of a Bank Booth), and the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio Quest. This Food is especially popular among PKs and other PVPers, who use it to combo eat, so the market for it is always there.

Profitability

Depending on the Current Grand Exchange margin between the Raw and the Cooked Karambwans, you should be able to make around k Gol/Hour.

Farming
Farming

Farming Skill allows you to grow various Plants from their Seeds and then harvest the Plants or Items that they Grow (like Fruits, for example). Growable Plants range from Fruit Trees, Vegetables, Hops, and Herbs to more exotic Mushrooms and Wood-Bearing Trees.

The main advantage of Farming over the other Gold making Skills is the fact that Plants will continue to Grow even if you Log Out of the game. This means that you can make some additional Gold with a minimal daily time input. Leveling up Farming is also rather effortless because of this, as a lot of experience can be gained with a little time investment.

One of the most profitable Plants to Farm is the Snapdragon. Farming it requires 62 Farming, 61 Magic (For Teleport to Trollheim), Farming Equipment, and initial Gold investment for 9 Snapdragon Seeds and  9 Ultracompost (Transportation items and Spells are recommended to reduce travel time between the patches). Each of the Farming Runs takes just a few minutes. Exemplary Patch locations and ways of getting to them quickly are as follows:

  • Patch north-east of Ardougne (Use Ardougne Teleport/Ardougne Cloak Teleport)
  • Port Phasmatys, west of the Undead Farm (Emptying the Ectophial will teleport you to the Port)
  • Patch south of Falador (Use Explorer's Ring's Cabbage port option)
  • Patch north of Catherby (Use Catherby Teleport)
  • Hosidius Patch (Use the Tithe Farm minigame teleport)

Profitability

Your profits from Farming Snapdragons will largely depend on your Teleportation options and Grand Exchange margins. If you have quick access to all available Patches, you should be able to make around k Gold/Farming Run which should take you ~10 minutes (Run can be repeated after 90 minutes).

Herblore
Herblore

Herblore is a Skill that allows you to create various Potions from Herbs, which is available to members only. You will need to complete the Druidic Ritual quest to use the Herblore Skill.

There are many ways of profiting on the Herblore, and every single one of them requires regular Grand Exchange margin checks because of the rapidly shifting prices. Checking margins on every Herb and every Potion may take some time, and there is no guarantee that you will find a worthwhile margin, so this method is recommended only as a secondary Gold making activity. It will especially suit Players who like to flip the Grand Exchange, as they are very familiar with GE prices, margins, and the overall in-game economy.

Note: At the moment of writing this Guide, Weapon Poison (++) and the Anti-Venom+ are the most profitable Potions to make, but this situation may change, depending on the demand-supply relation between Potions and raw Ingredients.

Profitability

Please take this one as a general profitability example, and be sure to check the Grand Exchange margins before investing any money in the below-mentioned Potions.

  • Creating Anti-Venom+ from Clean Herbs (Requires 94 Herblore) will earn you about  Gold/Potion.
  • Creating Weapon Poison (++) from Clean Herbs (Requires 82 Herblore) will earn you about Gold/Potion.

Woodcutting
Woodcutting

Woodcutting is a Gathering Skill that allows you to chop Trees in order to obtain Logs. These Logs are then used for Construction, Firemaking, and Fletching Skills, which means that there is a constant demand for them. This Skill is advised especially to new Players because it requires close to 0 initial investment and provides some nice early game profits (all you need is an Axe and some free in-game time, really). It can be performed while AFK, so it is also quite convenient.

The most profitable Trees to chop are Magic Trees, which are located at the Woodcutting Guild (membership is required to gain access). Woodcutting Skill of at least 75 (over 90 is recommended for better efficiency), a Dragon Axe, and at least 75% Hosidius Favour is required for them. Trees in the Woodcutting Guild are in very close proximity to the Bank, which minimizes travel time when farming.

Profitability

Your profits from Chopping Magic Trees will depend on the current Grand Exchange prices, but you can generally expect to make aroundk Gold/Hour. This number looks very low compared to some other shown on this list, but remember that Woodcutting is very AFK-friendly and can be done with very small player input.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How to make a bond on a free to play account?

Free accounts are easy to create, and because of that, a lot of bots use them. It means that most of the bots in RuneScape are running on free to play worlds. Since there aren't too many money-making methods - almost all of them are exhausted by cheaters. Because of that, earning gold on free accounts takes a lot of time and, to be honest, is a waste of time. It is much easier to buy your first membership bond or month of a game-time and start from there. We strongly encourage you to invest real money in your first membership, and with our methods, you will be able to pay for the future ones with RS gold easily.

Low-level moneymaking methods

You would be surprised by how much gold could be made with some simple tasks that can be done by all of the accounts. You don't have to farm for a long time, complete complicated quests, or train your skills to 99 to make gold in Oldschool RuneScape. There are tons of opportunities that just wait to be found. If you wish to make money for your first bond without a need for training, then the ideas stated below will fit your needs.

filling water containers

Filling water containers

Requirements: Around 3k gold

Possible profit: Just under k per hour.

  • Buy water containers on Grand Exchange (Jugs or Vials) in vast amounts
  • Teleport to Lumbridge and switch to PvP World (do not leave the castle walls not to enter the PvP zone)
  • Between fountains right where you teleported you should find bank chest - withdraw your containers
  • Run to the nearby fountain and fill them with water
  • Bank what you got and repeat the process

This method is a beginner only as it is around ten times less profitable than other ones, but it is an excellent way for new adventurers to start their journey with gold making. With filling water containers, you will be able to make just under k each hour, and that should be enough for a decent beginning.

killing chaos druids

Killing Chaos Druids (Combat)

Requirements: Decent Combat level (40+) and equipment that you are willing to eventually risk.

Possible profit: Over k gold per hour.

  • Pick up some food and decent combat equipment that you are willing to risk.
  • Go to Edgeville Dungeon and find Chaos Druids to the North.
  • Enter the Wilderness area through the gate.
  • Kill Druids and collect loot from them.

At low levels, it is tough to find a good moneymaker that involves combat. However, it is not impossible. Chaos Druids are known for dropping herbs at large amounts. On top of that, they have a very low Combat level of 13, and they are weak to ranged. They can be easily killed even by the beginners, which means that players with a decent level in Ranged will be able to take them down very quickly.

There is a downside to this way of making gold. Since the most popular place to hunt Chaos Druids is located on the Wilderness, there is some risk involved. You might be attacked by players at a similar level than yours, and there is a small chance that they will succeed in killing you, so it is not advised to bring expensive gear. On the other hand, you will be very likely to escape since these hunting spots have proximity to the Wilderness border. In general, there is a tiny chance that you will lose items, but keep in mind that Chaos Druids at Edgeville Dungeon reside in the PvP zone, and you might get attacked.

flax spinning

Flax Spinning (Crafting)

Requirements: 10+ Crafting and 50k+ gold if you don't want to gather Flax on your own.

Possible profit: k+ per hour.

  • Either buy thousands of Flax at Grand Exchange or collect it on your own.
  • Go to the 2nd floor of Lumbridge Castle and use the bank to withdraw the full inventory of Flax.
  • Descend to 1st level and spin all of your Flax on the spinning wheel to receive Bowstrings.
  • Bank everything that you have got and repeat the process. When you are done, sell Bowstrings on GE.

From level 10 Crafting, players can spin Flax at the spinning wheel to create Bowstrings. The best place to do that is the 1st floor of Lumbridge castle, which has Spinning Wheels the closest to the bank. Although poorer players might opt to collect Flax on their own, it is faster to buy it and start spinning right away. You should be able to make over Bow Strings in an hour easily.

supercompost making

Supercompost and Ultracompost Making

Requirements: Some gold to begin with (50k will be enough, however the more, the better).

Possible profit: It depends on the market, but usually over k per hour.

It is a straightforward method that not too many people know about. To start, head over to Grand Exchange and purchase these items: 4 Compost, 1 Compost Potion (4 doses), 2 Volcanic Ash. If you can afford to get more, then multiply the listed amount. By combining Compost Potion with regular Compost, you will create Supercompost, and by combining 2 Volcanic Ash with Supercompost, you will create Ultracompost. Since those items are extremely useful for the Farming skill, you will easily sell them on the Grand Exchange with a profit. In larger amounts, it will look like this:

Creation of Supercompost: Withdraw six potions of Compost Potion (4 doses each) and 22 buckets of Compost from the bank. Add potions to the buckets, and you will get 22 buckets of Supercompost. You will be able to make around gold on each bucket (after removal of the costs). It means that from each inventory, you will receive almost 9k gold. This process takes seconds but is extremely click-intensive, and because of that, you might try the next part of this process.

  • Buy Compost and Compost potions at large amounts
  • Withdraw 6 Compost potions and 22 buckets of Compost
  • Combine them to create Supercompost, which you will sell on Grand Exchange or save for the next method

Creation of Ultracompost: Withdraw as much Volcanic Ash as you can (minimum 54) and 27 buckets of Supercompost that you have made with the previous method or bought through GE. Click on ash and add it to the bucket. Push the button that appears on the chat box, and your character will start making Ultracompost by himself. You don't need to click the next one, as this process is automatic. You should be able to get around gold (after removal of the costs) from each bucket, which means that you can get over 5k from each inventory. Since you can be semi-AFK during this method, we advise you to use it and watch a good movie in the meantime.

  • Buy Supercompost or Volcanic Ash at large amounts (you can also make Supercompost on your own)
  • Withdraw all of the Volcanic Ash to your inventory and 27 buckets of Supercompost
  • Combine them to create Ultracompost which you will sell on Grand Exchange for profit

Overall depending on the amount of gold that you have invested and prices on Grand Exchange, you should be able to make even up to k - 1 million per hour. It is one of the best moneymakers that doesn't have any requirements, but whether it is useful at the time or not depends on the market prices, so make sure to check them out beforehand.

Keep in mind that you won't be able to instantly buy all of the resources as you can only get Compost/Supercompost every 4 hours due to market limits.

tanning dragonhides

Tanning dragonhides

Requirements: A few hundred thousand to invest or even millions if you want to tan expensive hides.

Possible profit: Over k per hour.

  • Go to Grand Exchange and buy Dragonhides of your choice.
  • Start at Al-Kharid bank and withdraw 27 hides and a few hundred coins to pay for services.
  • Go to Ellis, who is the tanner next to the furnace room, and give your hides to him for tanning.
  • Return to the bank and repeat the process

One of the most popular ways to make gold involves tanning hides into leathers. It is a simple process that requires medium amounts of player input so you could watch TV or do something else while tanning. In general, it is a very profitable activity; however sometimes price drops may occur, making it much less viable. If you want to try out tanning, make sure to check prices beforehand and select the type of hides that give not only good profits but also the ones that you will be able to afford in large quantities. It is very often better to buy large quantities of Green Dragonhide than to waste time going back to Grand Exchange for more expensive hides.

bird nest crushing

Bird nests crushing

Requirements: Large amounts of gold to begin (10m+ recommended).

Possible profit: Depends on the market, but usually over k per hour.

  • Bulk buy bird nests for over 10 million gold.
  • Withdraw "Pestle and Mortar" and 27 bird nests
  • Use them together to start the process of crushing
  • Sell crushed bird nests for profit

This idea is very similar to Ultracompost making since you will be able to do it while focusing on other things. With it, you should be able to make more money; however, resource prices are much higher, so there is more significant gold input required. With similar ways to make gold, always make sure to compare market prices and count possible incomes to see if it is a profitable method at the time. You should be able to crush around 5k nests every hour, which will result in up to k profit.

Medium-level moneymaking methods

If you are a bit more advanced in your leveling process, you should be able to start with more complicated ways that can give you better profits. In this section, you will find some combat-related ideas as well as those that involve higher levels of non-combat skills.

Making Mahogany Planks (Firemaking)

Requirements: Enlightened Journey Quest, 50+ Firemaking, over k gold.

Possible profit: Over k per hour.

If you like methods that involve running, then you will appreciate this one. Making Mahogany Planks at Sawmill requires Mahogany Logs and coins for each of the planks made. You will be traveling to this place by the balloon teleportation system, so you need to unlock it with Enlightened Journey quest, and on top of that, you have to get the permission for traveling near Varrock. For that, you will need 40+ levels in Firemaking skill. After the initial unlock route, the traveling will cost 1 Willow Log per trip.

To begin, take Ring of Duelling and teleport to Castle Wars with your noted Logs and 50k gold. Run North to the Balloon and fly to Varrock. Store and withdraw logs from a nearby crate if needed. Go to Sawmill operator and make the planks. Teleport back to Castle Wars with your ring to bank items and start over.

High Alchemy (Magic)

Requirements: 55+ Magic

Possible profit: Will vary with the amount of gold invested, items that you have chosen, etc. In general, over k per hour.

  • Do some research (on the Internet or the Grand Exchange) and find items with much higher High Alchemy value than their price on GE.
  • Buy them in large quantities and make sure to get some Nature Runes as well.
  • Equip Fire Battlestaff
  • Cast High Alch to disenchant items into gold.

One of the medium level ways to make gold comes with a High Alchemy spell. This ability costs five Fire Runes and one Nature Rune. The cost of Fire Runes can be reduced to zero with the use of Fire Staff. By using High Alch on an item, player disenchants the item into gold. Since gold values on items are predefined, sometimes prices of items are lower than their actual disenchant values. It creates an opportunity for moneymakers to buy large amounts of alchable items at low prices and make money on them by using High Alchemy spell.

Blast Furnace (Smithing)

Requirements: Started The Giant Dwarf quest. 85 Smithing (Runite), 70 Smithing (Adamantite), 50 Smithing (Mithril), 30 Smithing (Steel). Over k gold. Ice Gloves and Coal Bags will make your life easier.

Possible profit: Even over 1 million gold per hour

  • Go to official Blast Furnace world (there are 15, so you will easily find one)
  • Buy ores that you will use depending on your Smithing level and at least twice as much of Coal ore.
  • Head over to the Blast Furnace.
  • Bring your Ores, Stamina Potions, Ice Gloves, Coal Bags, and around k in cash.
  • Deposit money in the coffer (this allows you to use Blast Furnace - 1,2k for each minute).
  • Place your Ores on Conveyor Belt and Empty your Coal Bags to deposit Coal.
  • Make a few trips with Coal only and deposit everything - make sure to use your Coal Bags.
  • Take your bars from the dispenser and repeat the process.

Blast Furnace is one of the most famous money-makers on RuneScape, and it is still one of the most profitable ones as well. By starting Giant Dwarf quest, you gain access to the machine, which lets you create Smithing bars at a much faster pace than with other methods. Because of that, it is not only a great moneymaker but also a fantastic Smithing experience farm. To train here, you need only 30 Smithing level; however, this method begins to be fast from level It is also advised to get Ice Gloves since otherwise, you will have to bring buckets of water. In general, you can even make more than one million per hour with this method but keep in mind that better ores will give you better profits.

Barrows (Combat)

Requirements: Over 70 in Combat, Over 43 in Prayer - the higher, the better. Those are not the requirements; however, with lower skills, you will struggle a lot and won't make money on this method.

Possible profit: Depends on luck, stats, and your gear - should be around 1 mil/h.

If you are looking for a step-by-step guide, then many can be found on the Internet like this one: Barrows Guide. We won't describe everything here since there is too much to talk about however doesn't be discouraged by that. Barrows might seem difficult at first, but it is very easy, in fact.

In this minigame, you will deal with a fight against six revenants that haunt the old graveyard. The goal of the game is to find their coffins, plunder them, and to kill any residing ghosts that might defend their home. You should be able to make a profit from every run however, hitting a rare loot table will lend you the biggest profits of up to 10 mil. You can expect to make around 1 mil per hour with proper equipment on Barrows.

Crafting Runes Through the Abyss (Runecrafting)

Requirements: Enter the Abyss quest (very short), 44 Runecrafting (Nature Runes), 54 (Law Runes), 65 (Death Runes), 75 (Cosmic Runes), and at least 21 Mining. Rune Bags, Rings of Duelling, and Amulets of Glory are strongly advised.

Possible profit: It will vary depending on the runes of your choice and your stats. You should be able to make between k and k.

  • Go to Grand Exchange and buy necessary items.
  • Equip Ring of Duelling and Amulet of Glory. Take with you Rune Pouches and a Pickaxe.
  • Fill your bags and inventory with Pure Essence and use Stamina Potion if you have one.
  • Start at Edgeville bank or Grand Exchange and head north to the Mage of Zamorak.
  • Right-click him to teleport to the Abyss. (You can repair your damaged pouches here if needed - talk to Dark Mage to do so.)
  • Mine some rocks to enter the inner part of the Abyss.
  • Go through the portal of your choice and bless your Pure Essences on the obelisk.
  • Use Amulet of Glory to travel to Edgeville, where you will bank and start over your journey. If you run out of charges, then use Ring of Duelling to get to Castle Wars, where you can access the bank.

Runecrafting is simple and doesn't require high stats. You will need some levels in the Runecrafting and a little bit of gold, but all of that can be gained within a few hours. Even though you will be running through the Wilderness, it is highly unlikely that someone will attack you there. Just to be safe, make sure to leave your equipment in the bank.

Hunting Red Chinchompa (Hunter)

Requirements: Eagles' Peak quest (short one),At least 63 in Hunter. 4 Box Traps and some ranged equipment.

Possible profit: Around 1 mil per hour depending on your current Hunter level.

  • Equip Ranged gear and take four Box Traps with you.
  • Teleport to Fairy Ring with code AKS or go south of Feldip Hills by yourself.
  • You will find Red Chinchompas nearby. Kill the first one and set traps around the place of his respawn.
  • If Chinchompa runs away from your traps, make sure to kill him so new ones will be able to spawn.

Hunting Red Chins is the most profitable way of leveling for Hunter skill. It does require some attention, but it isn't very click-intensive. The most common place to do that is Red Chinchompa Hunting Ground, but to access this place, you have to complete the Western Provinces Diary. Because of that, the area south of Feldip Hills is recommended one since it doesn't have any requirements besides 63 Hunter.

High-level moneymaking methods

In this section, you will find the best moneymakers in the game. Remember that some of them have high requirements. Most of these methods are combat-related since bossing becomes extremely lucrative on endgame characters. High stats and good equipment allow you to take down monsters at a faster pace with less investment, which results in better gold per hour. On top of that, you won't have to waste as many potions and food through the fight.

Killing Vorkath (Combat)

Requirements:

  • Completion of Dragon Slayer II, which requires tons of other quests.
  • Skills like 75 Magic, 70 Smithing, 68 Mining, 62 Crafting, 60 Agility, 60 Thieving, 50 Construction, and 50 Hitpoints. The combat level of at least +.
  • Very good equipment, including consumables and potions.

Possible profit: Around mil every hour, which might vary depending on the luck. Possibility of dropping an item that's worth over 25 million in gold.

Vorkath is a boss that you will first meet during the Dragonslayer II quest. It is not the hardest boss in the RuneScape by any means, and he can be easily killed solo. The journey that you have to overcome to unlock him is very long, though. There are around 30 quests that have to be completed, and some of them are quite long. On top of that, only players with great combat stats will be able to fight the boss effectively, so make sure to get your combat stats to high levels. In this guide, we won't explain the fight itself as it is a too complicated process to point everything out.

Killing Demonic Gorillas (Combat)

Requirements:

  • Completion of Monkey Madness II quest, which requires other quests.
  • Skills like 69 Slayer, 70 Crafting, 60 Hunter, 55 Agility and 55 Thieving
  • Very good equipment, including consumables and potions.

Possible profit: Around 2,5 mil worth of items for one hour of hunting.

Demonic Gorillas are profitable because of their loot table in which you can find Zenyte Shard. It's used for the creation of very powerful jewelry. Since their drops are not consistent, sometimes you will be able to make extremely high amounts of gold, and sometimes your trip will barely give any profits. Since this is a luck-based activity, some players prefer bossing over this method.

Killing Zulrah (Combat)

Requirements: There are no requirements besides started Regicide quest, but you need a Combat level of over to kill this boss efficiently.

Possible profit: Around 2 mil per hour depending on your luck.

Even though Zulrah is considered to be one of the endgame bosses, he is not too hard to kill. On top of that, the drops that you can get from kill are quite consistent, and there is a chance to get millions from a rare drop table. In extreme cases with Twisted Bow and perfect movement, it is possible to make even up to 6 mil per hour doing this method. Since this boss does not require complicated quests and learning of intricate mechanics, it is a good boss to learn for those who are new to bossing.

Stealing from Master Farmers (Thieving)

Requirements: 38+ Thieving (at least 70 recommended). You can also take Rogue Equipment, Ardougne Cloak 3 or 4, Thieving Cape, and Seed Box to increase profits. Food is also a must below 94 Thieving.

Profits: Depends on the Thieving level and equipment, it can vary from k to 2 mil per hour.

One of the most famous ways to make gold with Thieving involves pickpocketing Master Farmers. Those can be found in various spots like Draynor Village. Players usually trap Master Farmer in one place, which allows everyone to steal from this NPC without a need to follow him around. The idea is simple as those NPCs are known for their seed drops. Constant pickpocketing at lower levels will be quite painful as you will often fail, which results in damage taken. Food will be necessary, and constant trips to the bank might lower your income. Because of that, it is advised not to start doing this before 70 Thieving. Rogue Equipment is almost necessary as it doubles the drop received.

Eclectic Impling Jar opening (Medium Clue Scrolls)

Requirements: 50 Hunter, 42+ Construction, and 96+ Magic. On top of that, gold to buy items.

Possible profit: Around 2 mil per hour.

Eclectic Impling Jars can be opened to receive various items like ores, herbs, and equipment pieces. Between those, you can also find Medium Clue Scrolls, which can be done for various rewards. Although you will lose money on opening, you will be able to get many Clue Scrolls. By completing them at high efficiency, you will be able to make millions from their drops.

There is a small chance to receive Ranger Boots as a reward, which are the most expensive boots in the game. Requirements that we listed will let you use all of the teleports, as well as Spellbook Swaps, through the use of the housing system. Every way that can make the completion of scrolls shorter is necessary for this method to be effective, so make sure to use your Stamina Potions, Teleport Tablets, Amulets, Rings, and everything else at your disposal.

Crafting Wrath Runes (Runecrafting)

Requirements: Dragon Slayer II quest and 95+ in Runecrafting Skill. It is also recommended to get all Runecrafting pouches, Mythical Cape, Wrath Tiara, Amulet of Glory, Anti-Dragon Shield, and weight reduction of any kind.

Possible Profit: Under 2 mil per hour.

Wrath Runes can be crafted on Wrath Altar by players who have reached level 95 in Runecrafting skill. Wrath Altar cannot be accessed through the Abyss, and therefore the only place where it can be found in the cave in the Myth's Guild basement. It is also the reason why you need Mythical cape since, with this item, traveling times will be significantly shortened. You also need Pouches to store more Rune Essences, Wrath Tiara, so you will be able to craft runes, Amulet of Glory for bank teleports, and Anti-Dragon Shield to avoid a portion of the damage that awaits you from dragons near the cave entrance. Stamina Potions are also a must because, for the majority of the time, you will be running during Runecrafting.

A short guide on Flipping

Requirements: Starting investment of at least 1 million gold.

Expected profit: Will vary depending on invested gold and time. You can make millions every day, and you can lose some money (but it is highly unlikely).

Before we explain how Flipping works, we need to point out one important method that could help you. To check the real margins on an item, you want to buy it for a very high price and sell it for very low. Here is an example:

  • You want to check the margin of a Cannonball, which has the market price of 10gp.
  • You buy 1 Cannonball for three or even four times that amount (30 or 40gp).
  • Your trade instantly goes through, and you receive your Cannonball + some GP (let's say it is Cannonball + 10gp). This GP comes back to you because Grand Exchange has found this item at a lower price than 30 or 40gp. It happens very often.
  • Now you want to sell it for a few times the lower amount than its regular price so around 2gp.
  • Your Cannonball instantly sells, leaving you with 5gp. Again this happened because people were not expecting someone to sell it for such a low price, and everyone tried to buy it for more.
  • Last but not least, it's time to check the margin. You want to go into the trade history by clicking the "History" button on the top left corner of the Grand Exchange window. Here you will see how many items you have bought and sold. You will see that Cannonball was bought at 20gp and sold at 5gp, which means that the real trading margin is 15gp. Now you know that it is possible to buy it for 5 and sell it for 20 so you can make 15gp on every Cannonball.
  • It is the best method to check item prices, but it won't work on expensive equipment since you would lose a lot of money by checking the prices of said items. It works best when you want to trade stuff at high quantities like Cannonballs, Zulrah Scales, Arrows, Bolts, Feathers, etc. If you're going to see real market prices of more expensive goods, then you will have to rely on websites that provide this kind of information.

If you are playing RuneScape for some time already, then you have probably heard about Flipping. It is considered to be the most lucrative money-making method in the game. Keep in mind, though, that it is not as simple as punching monsters in the face or cutting logs straight from the trees. Flipping basically means to buy for less and sell for more. By finding items with the highest margins, you will be able to make a lot of profit with very little time investment. People who aren't Flipping are missing out on an excellent opportunity to make a bank. All you have to do to make gold is a few minutes for research and another few to post auctions on Grand Exchange. It is worth noting that some of the items on GE are restricted from being bought at large amounts. There are buy limits set for each of the items which lasts 4 hours before resetting. There are two major ways to gain profit from RuneScape market:

Items with high buy limits: These items are runes, cannonballs, herbs, fletching products, seeds, and other smaller items that can be bought in thousands. Everything that can be purchased in large amounts can be easily found at the most popular items page on the official Old School RuneScape website. In this case, you will be trying to find items with buy to sell margins of 10+ gold.

Here is an example: By buying 10k Cannonballs at 10gp each, you will pay k Gold, and selling them at 20 GP price will give you back k GP. It means that you were able to make k profit from this single trade.

Items with low buy limits: This method requires more money to be invested as regular items are more expensive but also the profits that you can expect to get will be higher. The rule is simple: look for the items with as high margins as possible and invest in them. Set the price so you will make a decent profit and wait for them to sell. You can use various websites to check item history and determine if it could sell and if there is a demand for it. However, stay away from investing all of your money in one item. Sometimes you will be able to buy and sell what you want right away, but at other times you might be waiting for hours. It is especially noticeable with various vanity items like Clue Scroll rewards, which are great for long-term profit and overnight trading.

Flipping in Old School RuneScape is very easy, and you can quickly make millions from buying at the low prices and selling high. It happens since the majority of the players are rich, and they want to buy what they need quickly. This situation is the opportunity for those who count every item's value and sell it accordingly. If you want to become a millionaire, then there is no better OSRS money making method than Flipping in all of the RS.
