Projects include a green bond definitions and certification scheme with $34 trillion of assets represented on its Board; working with the Chinese central bank on how to grow green bonds in China; market development programs in Brazil, Mexico, ASEAN and Africa; and market tracking services for the green bonds industry. He is a member of the European Commission's Platform on Sustainable Finance, and was a member of its predecessors, the 2017 EU High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and the EU Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance. He is also a member of green finance committees in China, India, Mexico and Khazakhstan. Sean is also a Professor in Practice at SOAS University of London.

Charlie Donovan is Executive Director of the Centre for Climate Finance and Investment at Imperial College Business School and Academic Director of the MSc Climate Change, Management and Finance. He is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Finance. In his corporate career, Charlie was most recently Head of Structuring and Valuation for Global Power at BP plc. He was part of the strategy team that launched BP Alternative Energy with an $8 billion funding commitment. Charlie began his career as an Energy Policy Analyst with the US Environmental Protection Agency during the Clinton Administration. Professor Donovan holds a bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, graduated from the MBA program at Vanderbilt University, and completed a Doctorate in Management at IE Business School. He is the editor and co-author of Renewable Energy Finance: Powering the Future, now in its 2nd edition.
Tulsi Tanti is Chairman and Managing Director of Suzlon Group, an Indian MNC and a prominent player in the global renewable energy sector. A visionary and a world renowned expert on clean energy, he is passionate about championing the cause of affordable and sustainable energy to tackle the paradigm of economic growth and climate change. He conceptualized end-to-end solutions model creating realistic avenues for businesses and envisioned importance of R&D to optimize available wind resources & minimize LCoE. Suzlon has become global conglomerate under his able leadership and emerged as a prominent player in global renewable energy market. He is also the Chairman of Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and also active member of various CEO Forums. He has also served as founding CEO of Indiabulls Power, leading construction of over 5000 MW of Thermal Power projects. Prior to his, Ranjit worked at Schlumberger for 12 years in various field and management positions across various geographies. So the two day business extravaganza organized by the Tamil Nadu government is over and the media in Tamil Nadu has dedicated their headlines to the huge amount of investment MoUs which have been raked in by the state. Jayalalithaa is a proud Chief Minister, having announced yesterday that more than Rs. 2.4 lakh crore worth of investments have been promised by private investors from across the globe.
So who are these investors? What are they going to produce, where are they going to do so and how much are they investing?
Here are some of the highlights, and the full list as released by the Tamil Nadu government is reproduced below.
The highest investment by a single company is by the Kuwait based Al Kharafi group, which will invest Rs. 30,000 crore for an oil refinery and petrochemical plant at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Tuticorin.
In the energy sector, the highest investment is by OPG Power Ventures for a coal-based power plant in Nagapattinam with an investment of Rs. 24,380 crore.
Uber has promised to provide employment for 30,000 people in the state by expanding operations in Chennai and Coimbatore over the next few years. In the IT Sector, WS Industries has promised employment for 28,000 people by building an IT park in Chennai.
